Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Officers then located many other marked vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials state early analysis show the fluid was most likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
A senior political figure commented the attack left him stunned and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on social media, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
