The new appointee steps into the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' underwhelming early showing last autumn.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive a key figure updated staff about this strategic move through an official communication, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had shown the necessity for a clearer direction.
The president expressed that the team is now overhauling Project Ethos with a refreshed focus, aiming to address gamer demands.
This announcement mirrors a comparable action taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired an industry veteran from Blizzard to assist with the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Ben’s guidance and background in the PVP shooter field is vast, having devoted the past decade and a half producing and leading some of the most popular franchises in the industry, such as the acclaimed shooter, and lately, the battle royale hit.

Brinkman currently serves in the position of executive producer and head of production at the renowned studio for Apex Legends. Brinkman earlier was employed at Treyarch and Activision in various production roles on the Call of Duty games, and, before that, had assignments at 2K and Electronic Arts.
The upcoming game was unveiled in last year together with a community playtest. At the time, 31st Union described the title as a "no-cost, third-person perspective roguelike hero shooter and an innovative step forward on the style."
